SRA RETAIL AWARDS
About the SRA Retail Awards:
The SRA Retail Awards are presented by the Singapore Retailers Association (SRA) and supported by SPRING Singapore and the Singapore Tourism Board.
Launched in 2000, the coveted Awards aim to raise the standards, profile and image of the retail industry in Singapore.
Presented annually to the most outstanding industry players, the SRA Retail Awards seek to promote innovation, creativity and excellence, so as to constantly add new and exciting dimensions to retail and take the industry to new heights.
A total of six Awards are up for grabs each year:
1. Best New Entrant of the Year
2. Best Retail Concept of the Year
3. Best Retail Event of the Year
4. Best Efforts in Corporate Social Responsibility
5. Manager of the Year*
6. Young Executive of the Year*
The 'Best New Entrant of the Year' and 'Best Retail Concept of the Year' are open to all eligible brick-and-mortar retail establishments in Singapore, while the 'Best Retail Event of the Year' is open to all eligible brick-and-mortar retail establishments as well as shopping centres. All contenders are judged on the level of creativeness, uniqueness, excitement, success, and impact on consumers and the retail industry in Singapore.
The 'Best Efforts in Corporate Social Responsibility' is open to all eligible retail companies which are operating brick-and-mortar stores in Singapore. The contenders are judged on the impressiveness and success of the Corporate Social Responsibility efforts, and the impact on the company and the retail industry in Singapore.
The 'Manager of the Year' and the 'Young Executive of the Year' are open to all eligible Singaporean and Permanent Resident managers / executives in Singapore who are employed by retail companies that are SRA ordinary members. While the former recognises outstanding managers aged 31 or above who are managing at least two levels of staff, the latter recognises young and dynamic executives aged 30 or below who are managing three subordinates or more. The contenders are judged on their qualities, abilities, contributions and achievements to the company and the retail industry in Singapore.
Qualifying Period: 1 May to 30 April
Closing Date: 31 May
Announcement of Results & Presentation of Awards: August / September
All winners of the annual SRA Retail Awards will receive a trophy each. In addition, the winners of the 'Manager of the Year' and 'Young Executive of the Year' will also receive a $4,000 Educational Reward each, while the finalists will receive a $500 Educational Reward each from the SRA as part of the SRA Membership Rewards Programme**.
* All the Awards are open to both SRA members and non-members, except for the 'Manager of the Year' and 'Young Executive of the Year', which are only open to employees of retail companies that are SRA ordinary members.
** The SRA Membership Rewards are exclusively for SRA members which have been with the Association for at least 2 years, and whose membership fees are not in arrears.
